Applied Systems and ASCnet provide training at Sacramento summit
User group hosts agents and brokers for continuing ed
University Park, Illinois — June 21, 2011 — Insurance agents and brokers are gathering Wednesday through Friday in Sacramento, Calif., for continuing education on how to increase sales and profits with their Applied Systems agency and broker management systems.
The 2011 Summer Sales & Agency Optimization Summit is hosted by ASCnet (Applied Systems Client Network), the international user group for insurance professionals who use Applied Systems solutions. The summit's 58 educational sessions are taught by ASCnet instructors and Applied Systems professional staff, including representatives of Artizan Internet Services, an Applied Systems company.
"We've been listening to our users and developing educational content that meets the needs and wants of agencies of every size and operational level," said Karen Lancaster, chair of ASCnet's Education Committee. "We are staying current with proven cutting-edge technologies, and we're raising the bar of education for our users. We want to make sure they are well-versed on the basics, but we want to give them the advanced classes as well."
The summit introduces a principal master series, taught by current ASCnet Chair Brian Bartosh. The series focuses on strategies that will help agency principals grow their businesses. Select sessions in the series will be recorded and made available to ASCnet members after the summit.
Artizan presents a session on how agents and brokers can expand consumer servicing capabilities with online access and professional Web design services.
Some summit sessions are focused on specific features in each Applied Systems agency management system, such as showing how to create PivotTables® in the Epic™ system so agents can get the report they want; or tips and tricks in TAM that save time for CSRs.
Other sessions cover broader topics, such as transitioning to a paperless office, turning an Apple® iPad into an effective business tool, building an iPhone application, and how to become a better public speaker.
This event is the second and final ASCnet educational summit for 2011. The next ASCnet opportunity for continuing education will be 2011 TENCon (Technology, Education & Networking Conference), the user group's annual meeting, being held in September in Orlando, Fla.
